How Landor Farms looks after the personal information you give us through this website.
Who is responsible
Landor Farms is responsible for the personal information it collects through this website, including what our service providers keep for us. The owner of Landor Farms is the person responsible for privacy.
To reach the owner about privacy, send us a message and choose “A privacy question or request”, or write to Landor Farms All Natural Soaps, 3980B Park Rd, RR 1, Denman Island BC.
What we collect, and why
- When you order: your name, e-mail address, phone number and shipping address, to take your payment, ship your order and e-mail you its receipt, tracking number and any refund. Your card details go straight to Square, our payment provider; we never see them.
- When you send us a message: your name, e-mail address, the topic you choose and your message, to reply to you.
- When you send us a message or pay: the internet address of your connection, to limit how many messages or payments one connection can send in an hour (kept for two hours), and Cloudflare’s security check, which tells people from automated programs.
Who else receives it
- Square, our payment provider: your payment, and your order with your name, e-mail address, phone number and shipping address. Square may also link your payment to a customer profile in our Square account, or make one. Its card form on our checkout may send technical details of your visit to Square’s own service providers.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website: every visit to it, the messages you send us, your order as you place it, and its security check.
- Resend, which sends our e-mail: your messages to us, our copy of your order, and your order’s receipt, tracking and refund e-mails.
- The service that holds our e-mail: your messages to us and our copy of your order.
- Woosh, our shipping-label service: your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and the items, to make your shipping label. The carrier that delivers your order sees the name and address on it. Orders from our Square Online shop that we ship pass through this website’s server on their way to Woosh: the name, address, phone number, e-mail address and items on them.
These services may keep or process your information outside Canada, where the authorities of that country may be able to see it.
This website shows no advertising and sends your information to no one but the services above.
What this website keeps in your browser
- Your cart, until you empty it.
- The details you type at the checkout, in that tab only, until your order is paid or you close the tab.
- While a payment waits for its answer: that payment and your details, so that a reload finds it instead of charging you twice. They are removed once it is answered. After a day they are no longer used, and they are removed the next time you open the checkout.
- A mark of your last payment (not your card details), so that another open checkout tab does not charge you again. Your next payment replaces it.
- A random reference for your checkout, so that a lost answer finds your order again. Our Square account keeps it with your order until the order is paid and its order number takes its place. It is removed from your browser once your order is paid; otherwise a checkout more than a day later replaces it.
- Which soap photo the home page showed you last, which says nothing about you.
This website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Square’s card form and Cloudflare’s security check may set their own.
How long we keep it
- Messages you send us: one year in this website’s storage, and in our e-mail as long as we need them to help you.
- Orders: in Square, at least as long as Canadian tax law requires us to keep records, generally six years from the end of the last tax year they relate to; our copy in our e-mail, as long as we need it to help you.
- An order started at the checkout but not paid (after a declined card, for example) stays in our Square account, unpaid, with the details you entered.
- Your order’s reference and tracking numbers: 90 days in this website’s storage, to e-mail you its tracking.
- A customer profile in our Square account, if Square made one: until it is deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it and who has received it, and ask us to correct it. We answer within 30 days.
You can withdraw your consent to a use of your information at any time, except where the law requires us to keep it (such as order records for tax). We will tell you what that changes: for example, we cannot ship an order without an address.
Questions and complaints
Send us a message (choose “A privacy question or request”) and we will look into it and reply. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
